A report from Bloomberg states that some 64,000 of Nvidia’s flagship Blackwell GB200 chips might be bought by OpenAI and Oracle as a part of the Stargate AI knowledge middle venture introduced in January at a ceremony on the Trump White Home.
“OpenAI and Oracle Corp. plan to start filling an enormous new knowledge middle in Texas with tens of hundreds of highly effective AI chips from Nvidia Corp. within the coming months,” Bloomberg reported, “a part of a push to get the primary facility for his or her $100 billion Stargate infrastructure enterprise up and working.”
The information middle might be positioned in Abilene, TX and can home 64,000 of the coveted GB200’s by the top of subsequent 12 months, sources advised Bloomberg story, after a gap set up of 16,000 chips throughout the subsequent six months.
The GB200 Superchip combines a Grace CPU with two enhanced B200 GPUs. They’re reportedly priced at between $60,000-$70,000 per chip.
“An OpenAI spokesperson stated the startup is working along with Oracle on the design and supply of the Abilene knowledge middle,” Bloomberg reported, “and that Oracle is in control of getting and working the supercomputer that’s being constructed there.”
Bloomberg reported that each Oracle and Nvidia didn’t supply touch upon the story.
